The first phase (107-108) of our school project, with the theme of "Cultivating the South, Spreading reputation Faraway", aims to deepen teacher training, implement curriculum modularization and streaming, and improve professional teachers' qualifications through strategies such as cross-domain learning, innovative curriculum design and teaching, tightening the linkage between researches, studies and industries, cultivating students' core competencies and citizenship, and developing teachers' suitable talents for professionalism and teaching, in order to achieve long-term success. Based on the existing excellent foundation of talent cultivation, we will continue to promote the evolution of the old and adapt to the new.
According to the aforementioned goals and strategies, the main achievements and four major highlights of the first phase are as follows:
- Innovative teaching and learning style.
The achievements conclude increasing the quality of teaching resources and creativity and intensifying the system of diversity of curriculum. Well-planned courses system and cross-colleges teaching resources distribution will help in curriculum modularity. Industries’ needs and Resources integration are keys to create feature teaching curriculum. Besides, training students to meet the needs of industries and to strengthen the ability to learn is our focal point. Moreover, we collaborate with government’s policies to encourage teachers creating teaching style, so that we form a pleasant teaching and learning atmosphere in our campus.
- Connection between diversity and AI construction.
The achievements conclude combination of industries, research, service, and practice. Academic knowledge is applying to general life rather than just be in campus. The cooperation between industries and academic leads to the good performance in research and service, furthermore, our students improve their professional skill and increase the employment rate. Our school connects to international partners and strengthens the cooperation in training students’ expertise. We provide some systems to increase students’ potential in order to face the world wide challenge, such as dual degree programs and exchange student activities. Finally, we use big data to analyze and provide constructive results to improve university policies and form a sustainable, artificial intelligent campus.
- Providing resources to students in need and community welfare.
The achievements conclude helping underprivileged students and providing various ways to apply our university. Education is a way to reverse a student’s social status. To implement fairness and justice, our university has assistant systems to support students in need to enhance students’ ability and to sustain livelihood.
- Community care and curriculum practice.
Our university achieved that we combined colleges’ resources and students to provide communities caring services, and help underprivileged students from suburban to enhance their cognition of social welfare. In the future, underprivileged students will have more opportunities to reverse their lives throughout our teaching and practicing programs.
In the past two years, our students have done well in Recruitment and assessment of school teacher,that there were 185 students passed the interview in 2019 including 160 in Teacher Education Program for Secondary Schools and 25 in Teacher Education Program for Primary Schools. The students of Physical Education Department won the prize of 6 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals in National Intercollegiate Athletic Games. The students in our school have the best chance of professional training that they were awarded in many kinds of competitions. Students of Industry Design Department won the prize on red dot in Germany in 2018. Students of Visual Design Department won the prize of New York Art Directors Club Annual Awards, Times Young Creative Awards, and golden prize of International Chinese Zodiac Design Competition. Students of Electrical Engineering Department won the second prize of Taiwan Tech Industry 4.0 implementation competition. Ours students have shown their profession in competition and in job market. The employment rate of our teaching-training students is between 74-77 percent, and the employment rate of our non-teaching-training students is between 63-65 percent. Both data has proofed that we are efficient in training students in their profession.
Based on the aforementioned foundations, the school will continue to strive for further development, planning a more unique and comprehensive curriculum, in order to create more important educational achievements and carry out further tasks.
