The Summary and highlights of the goal achievement in 2025
All targets set for 2025 under the second phase ,second stage of the Higher Education Sprout Project has been fully achieved. The Summary and Highlights are as follows:
- Achievement and Highlights in Enhancing Teaching Innovation:
- The university’s overall interdisciplinary course enrollment rate reached 64% ,a 29% increase compare to 2024.The Digital Technology Interdisciplinary Micro-Program
reached 25% enrollment. STEAM and Humanities Care courses recorded over 85% undergraduate participation. The autonomous learning platform loggd 2,968 users.
The university’s interdisciplinary curriculum includes four categories :
- Interdisciplinary Combined Courses:Course taught separately by instructors from different fields.
- Co-Taught Interdisciplinary Courses: Courses taught simultaneously by instructors from different fields or specialties.
- Interdisciplinary Special Topic Courses:Courses taught by one instructors but with inherently interdisciplinary content.
- Interdisciplinary Micro-programs: Program composed of courses by instructors from mul
- Development of AI humanities and social sciences curriculum
Establish AI and social sciences innovation research center, complete the purchase of GPU and serves, and procured to support the development of a digital Buddhist canon AI system and AI-related courses.
- International academic engagement
The full English-taught Summer Workshop on classical Chinese Translation attracted 12 international graduated students. Additionally,7 students participated in overseas
iternship program and 13 teachers went abroad for academic exchanges, and the university received 47 international scholars and 63 students thereby enhancing globalization and academic exchange opportunities.
- Achievements and Highlights in Fulfilling Social Responsibility
- Establishment of an AIoT carbon emission monitoring system
The Net-Zero Resilience Research and Seedling Center was established as a practical base for sustainability-related curricula and a resource for the North Coast community-making the steps in understanding crop-related carbon emissions and supporting local carbon reduction.
- Environmental education and spiritual protection-based sustainability
A total of 44 environmental education activities were conducted with 2,089 participants,
featuring courses such as Mindful water Conservation, Green Breathing, and Slow Walking Meditation.
- Organized the Northern Regional Workshop for the Taiwan Partnership for the Satoyama Initiative(TPSI) and facilitated joint learning activities among North Coast partners to empower the local community ,with a total of 215 participants.
- Life education and end-of-life care
The “Living well, Dying well” workshop served 123 participants, co-organized with Jinshan Hospital to promote understanding the beauty of living well and leaving well.

- Organized Spiritual Environmental Protection Retreat for junior and senior high school teachers (100 participants), four corporate retreats (147 participants), and one Children’s Life Educations Meditation Camp (69 participants),achieving mindful environmental protection.
- Achievements and Highlights in Industry-Academia Collaborations
- Domestic Collaborations:
- 4 Buddhist-system commissioned projects related to digital preservation and application of Buddhist scriptures.
- 2 projects related to social practice. A total of 19 students participated in the projects, accounting for approximately 13% of first and second-year students.
- International research collaborations:
One cross-national project was conducted with the Department of Pali and Buddhist studies ,University of Pune(India) to co-edit a Brahmi-Chinese-Tibetan dictionary, involving one PHD and one MA student, enhancing students’ research capabilities and problem-solving skills.
- Achievements and Highlights in Enhancing Higher Education Accessibility
- Support for disadvantage students: the proportion of economically and culturally disadvantaged students receiving assistance reached 50%, a 10% increase from 2024.
- Indigenous cultural activities :organized 4 indigenous cultural activities with a total of 320 participants.
- Scholarship support: the university awarded NT$3,564,832 in monastic scholarship to 190 recipients.
- Implementation of student participation in governance :The university revised its regulations to formally include student representatives in major academic and administrative meetings.
- Others Achievements
- 90 % of academic regulations have been translated into English.
- One Asian Buddhist Art and Culture Day event was held to foster multicultural understanding.
- Cultural excursion for international students provided opportunities to experience Taiwanese culture.
- A year-end party event for international students was held, offering community support and enhancing student well-being.
