Enhancing Teaching Innovation

With a student-centered and teaching-focused approach, the University promotes interdisciplinary courses and innovative teaching practices. By expanding course offerings and easing academic regulations, the University strengthens students’ cross-disciplinary abilities. Interdisciplinary programs, micro-credit courses, and self-directed learning further provide flexible learning opportunities. In 2025, a total of 9 Teaching Practice Research Projects were approved by the Ministry of Education, effectively improving teaching quality and enhancing students’ knowledge and skills. Faculty learning communities have also grown, with 15 communities established so far, reflecting greater faculty engagement in curriculum development, co-teaching, and teaching innovation. These efforts have enhanced teacher–student interaction, interdisciplinary collaboration, and learning outcomes. To strengthen students’ global mobility, the University organized 13 overseas learning and exchange programs, hosted 4 inbound study programs, and offered international youth volunteer training. A total of 111 faculty members and students traveled abroad, and 71 international faculty and students visited the University.

Fulfilling Social Responsibility

The University places community well-being at the center of its social responsibility efforts. By integrating cross-generational and cross-sector collaboration, it has built a local health-promotion network that supports community welfare and strengthens youth engagement in service. This year, the University assumed operation of two nonprofit kindergartens and continues the operation of Kang Ning LOHAS community-based service point to support elderly well-being, further deepening its connection with the local community. Nearly one hundred activities were organized across various locations, including elementary and junior high schools in Neihu District, community centers, Ziyun Borough, Tzu Chi Foundation, exhibition venues, and multiple classrooms and venues on campus, reaching a total of 2,277 participants. Activities included cognitive training, health literacy, medication safety, fitness and physical wellness, intergenerational learning, and technology-assisted health applications. These initiatives effectively enhanced elderly’s ability to manage their health and reduce risk of functional decline. Through student involvement in community service, course-based projects, and extracurricular activities, the University strengthens students’ skills in health promotion and digital technology integration. These efforts also reinforce industry–academia collaboration, deepen community engagement, and demonstrate the University’s contribution to local well-being and sustainable development.

Strengthening Industry–Academia Collaboration

The University actively strengthens industry–academia cooperation to ensure alignment between students’ academic learning and professional competencies. In 2025, faculty members undertook 23 industry–academia collaboration projects, totaling NT$105,138,004, averaging NT$1,130,516 in external funding per faculty member, reflecting strong research capacity and effective industry partnerships. Through capstone courses, project work, and exhibitions, the University fosters students’ skills in problem analysis, innovative thinking, and practical application. These initiatives strengthen engagement with industry, integrate theory with practice, and better prepare students for the workforce, enhancing both practical abilities and career competitiveness. The University continues to offer diverse creative platforms through competitions, deepen industry–academia collaboration, and expand AI-related courses. These efforts support students in building strong portfolios and gaining valuable hands-on experience during their studies.

Enhancing the Public Value of Higher Education

The University is committed to providing financial aid programs for economically disadvantaged students. A total of NT$3,835,000 was raised this year and fully allocated to support underprivileged students, ensuring stable assistance and allowing students to pursue studies without financial concerns. In Indigenous cultural education, the University organized hand-weaving workshops for international students and hosted a visit from Osaka International University, fostering cross-cultural exchange and respect for Indigenous cultures. Tribal village visits further deepened students’ understanding of local cultural heritage. Faculty compensation remains aligned with public university standards, ensuring consistency across all faculty members and maintaining high teaching quality. In terms of career development, the University offered courses on AI certification, AI social-media content creation, and copywriting to strengthen students’ digital skills and workplace competitiveness.
