  1. Strengthening Cross-Disciplinary Programs
  • Offered 48 cross-disciplinary programs through 34 colleges and departments.
  • A total of 2,225 students participated in these programs.
  • Introduced a university-wide “Arete Honors Program” for students admitted via recommendation.
  1.  Co-Creation and Hands-On Courses
  • Delivered hands-on micro-programs, including 288 core and advanced courses.
  • Offered 333 innovative micro-courses and workshops.
  • Recorded 9,207 enrollments across these courses.
  1. Improving Academic Research Capacity
  • NYCU ranked in the top 1% in 15 out of 22 fields in the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) database.
  • A total of 145 articles were published in the Science and Nature series journals during 2023-2025.
  • 341 articles were listed as “highly cited papers” in 2025, an increase of 24% from 2022.
  1. Recruitment of Outstanding Scholars
  • Over 20% of the recipients of the Flexible Salary Program are from assistant and associate faculty members.
  • In 2025, NYCU has recruited 49 Yushan Fellows including 25 Yushan Young Fellows.
  • Launched the “Presidential Young Chair Professorship” initiative to attract 60 young scholars.
  • Approved 80 “Faculty Development Plans” in 2023-2025, supporting interdisciplinary research.
  • Provided 96 new faculty funding packages to encourage research and improve academic performance.
  1. Deepening International Collaboration and Talent Mobility
  • Joined international organizations like APRU and UAiTED.
  • Established dedicated offices for Taiwan-Japan exchange, semiconductor collaboration, and international promotion.
  • Partnered with Indian Institute of Technology for dual Ph.D. degrees and UIUC for dual master degrees.
  • Launched Taiwan’s first overseas semiconductor master program with Vietnam National University.
  • Collaborated with MIT, Purdue, and UIUC to facilitate student internships in Taiwan.
  • Collaborating with the State of Saxony, Technische Universität Dresden, and TSMC to promote the STIPT program (Semiconductor Talent Incubation Program Taiwan).
  • Obtained the Fulbright Scholarship to attract outstanding international students.
  • Facilitated over 1,000 student exchanges post-pandemic with more than 300 partner institutions globally.
  • Deepened global partnerships centered on cross-border collaboration and two-way talent mobility.

  • Facilitated technology transfer for several enterprises, with 14 professors successfully securing contracts exceeding NTD 5 million from 2023 to October 2025.
  • Supported faculty members in founding 32 university spin-off companies.
  • Established innovative programs in semiconductor and information technology fields, forming long-term partnerships with leading companies such as Micron, Novatek, MediaTek, and Phison to meet global industry demands.
  1. Improving Access for Economically and Culturally Disadvantaged Students
  • Increased admissions for disadvantaged students to 79 through special application channels.
  • Assisted 217 economically disadvantaged students with scholarship applications.
  • External fundraising efforts for student aid reached NTD 5 million annually.
  1. Addressing Social Issues and Promoting Local Sustainability
  • Facilitated faculty-led student projects in rural and indigenous communities, emphasizing health promotion, academic tutoring, and support for vulnerable populations.
  • Actively tackled local health and resource disparities to enhance equity and foster social inclusivity.
  • Embedding Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in education and activities. Integrated SDGs into the curriculum and extracurricular initiatives to promote awareness and actionable engagement.
  • Establishing the Community and Sustainable Education Center and offering a micro-program in sustainability leadership, combining theoretical insights, case studies, and practical applications to cultivate systematic problem-solving skills and prepare leaders for sustainable development challenges.

 

The Innovative Creative Tcchnology held the“NYCU-ICT Interdisciplinary Course Info Sessions” on February 18.

 

Students from our university's Department of Mechanical Engineering teamed up with National United University to form the team “What an Annoying Feeling”. In the 2025 ROCKET TAIWAN CUP, the rocket they developed won first place in the college division.

 

Students Form Cross-Disciplinary Teams to Participate in an International UAV Competition.

 

In July 2025, the Second Taiwan–Japan Global Semiconductor Partnership and Innovation Startup Forum was held in collaboration with Kyushu University in Japan.
