The university is built on a foundation of excellence in teaching and social engagement, demonstrating the public value of higher education. By enhancing industry collaboration, cultivating international talent, and continuously supporting economically and culturally disadvantaged students, the university leverages sustainable strategies to boost international competitiveness and social impact. Key highlights of our 2025 Higher Education Enhancement Project (高教深耕計畫) are as follows:
1. Advancing Teaching Innovation
Teaching Practice & Faculty Development
- 8 faculty members approved for Teaching Practice Research Subsidies Program.
- Incentives awarded to high-performing faculty; funding provided for pilot proposals not approved.
- 17 faculty learning communities formed:
- 8 interdisciplinary
- 9 within-discipline
- 17 faculty members adopted diversified assessment tools.
Industry–Academia Co-Teaching
- 71 co-taught courses subsidized.
- 68 industry professionals participated.
Micro-Credit Courses
- 27 micro-credit courses offered, including 14 student-initiated proposals.
- Courses aligned with SDGs and the 12-Year Basic Education core competencies.
- Student satisfaction score: 4.7 / 5.
- Students expressed strong willingness to continue taking micro-credit courses.
Interdisciplinary & Self-Directed Learning
- 756 students completed interdisciplinary courses (33.4% of all students).
- 715 students participated in self-directed learning (31.62%).
- Teaching assistants supported 296 classes, assisted 1,586 students.
EMI Talent Cultivation
- EMI courses offered in collaboration with Gjun Language Institute, including:
- Introduction to Health and Physical Education
- Health Management
- TOEIC preparation and English conversation classes provided with leveled instruction.
- Incentive mechanisms and online speaking-training platforms implemented.
- 87.7% of students reported improved speaking skills.
Teaching Environment Enhancement
- 2 hybrid teaching spaces developed.
- Multiple classrooms and digital equipment renovated to support innovative teaching.
2. Fulfilling Social Responsibility
Community Sports & Youth Development
- 108 university students served as main contributors in:
- Community volleyball team instruction
- After-school sports classes
- Supporting local team training
- Established the Central Taiwan Volleyball Alliance in collaboration with the National University System.
- Co-organized the Rural Volleyball Development Program with Taichung City Social Affairs Bureau, promoting grassroots sports participation.
Camps & Competitions
- 2 summer sports camps held, engaging 73 participants.

Senior & Community Programs

Dance Education for Aging Communities

- 71 participants traveled to Japan for skiing experience and certification training.

- 22 thematic programs (SDGs features, 2D tactics, food culture)
- 30 total media works produced, building foundational skills in AI-assisted content creation and virtual character production.
NTUS Television Station Production
- 66 in-studio programs produced, including:
- NTUS News Brief – 41 episodes
- NTUS Talent – 20 episodes
- Sports Educators – 5 episodes
- Co-produced 12 episodes of Seeing Humanity with The Merit Times.
Sports Science & Athlete Support
- Conducted sports science assessments for 256 athletes.
- Provided psychological counseling for 19 athletes.
- Supported 7 representative teams with strength and conditioning programs.
Sports Event Professionalization
- Organized major sports events including:
- National Overseas Students Cup Sports Games
- Formosa Women’s Basketball Invitational
- Camel Cup Road Race
- Completed 23 industry–academia cooperation projects.
- Established standardized procedures for sustainable, high-efficiency sports event management.
