Phase 2 - Summary and Highlights of 2025 Goal Achievements

I. Promoting Teaching Innovation and Enhancing Teaching Quality

To continuously improve teaching quality and promote educational innovation, the university has advanced diverse teacher incentive and support mechanisms.

Systems such as the Excellence in Teaching Award(教學優良教師獎勵),Merit Pay for Exceptional Teachers(優良教師彈性薪資獎勵),and Core Teaching Competency Award(教師教學核心能力獎勵)encourage faculty to deepen professional growth and innovate in curriculum design.

Through interdepartmental teaching communities, teachers share experiences and outcomes, fostering a collaborative learning culture.

The university actively promotes AI education by establishing the“AI Teaching Enhancement Community,

organizing multiple AI training workshops to strengthen teachers’ability to apply generative AI in instruction.

Course offerings have been expanded to include“Introduction to Data Science,”“Artificial Intelligence Design,”Introduction of Robot Exploration,”and“Media Literacy.”

In 2025,229 students enrolled in AI and digital literacy courses.

AI features were also integrated into the I-learn platform and classroom activities, such as AI question bank search,AI learning diagnostics, and AI content generation practice, cultivating students’computational thinking, media literacy, and practical AI application skills.

In teaching practice research, the university encouraged faculty to apply for Ministry of Education projects, resulting in six approved cases in 2025.

The university also held an international teaching practice conference, with 23 papers presented,12 of which were published in the Teaching Practice Research Forum journal教學實務研究論叢」期刊,showcasing both academic depth and practical application.

In addition,diverse teaching programs were promoted,including Teaching Innovation(36 projects,NT$1 million),Smart Teaching Digitization(18 projects,NT$360,000),University Social Responsibility(USR)(6 projects,NT$710,000),and Student-Teacher Collaborative Learning(41 projects, NT$200,000),enhancing interdisciplinary learning and hands-on experience.

To create innovative learning environments, the university established an Omni Media Live Streaming Center with professional studios and production spaces for program creation, recording, and interdisciplinary teaching.

The Omni Media Live Streaming(Figure 1)Center not only enhances digital teaching quality and improves students’ media production skills, but also serves as a platform for industry collaboration and intercollegiate exchange, marking a milestone in integrating education with the media industries.

In October 2025,the renovated“Practice Court”(實習法庭)(Figure 2)was completed and inaugurated, providing a simulation-based professional classroom that bridges theory and practice.

The university also collaborated with courts, the Administrative Enforcement Agency, and law firms to facilitate student internships and visits to judicial and governmental authorities.

The university further invited a Division-Chief Judge of Taiwan Hsinchu District Court to give a lecture on the citizen judge system, thereby strengthening students’legal literacy and professional competence.

II. Fulfilling Social Responsibility

With humanistic care as its foundation, the university continues to engage deeply with the Hsinchu region through projects such as the“Innovation and Sustainability Project of Hankeng Village(Figure 3)”and“Ruma Sinsi-Developing Resilient Tribal Recreation Industry.(Figure 4)”These initiatives encourage interdisciplinary collaboration between faculty and students, embodying the spirit of cultural regeneration and sustainable action.

The Innovation and Sustainability Project of Hankeng Village focuses on revitalizing the century-old Hakka persimmon industry by integrating art, hospitality, and marketing disciplines to promote innovative persimmon-dye crafts and brand transformation.

The project also helped local youth establish the“Xin Xinpu,Hui Ke Shi”community hub, creating a one-stop action base for local revitalization.

Additionally, the project facilitates international exchanges, including the“Taiwan-Korea Persimmon Dye Joint Exhibition”and the“Taiwan-Japan Persimmon Friendship Exchange,”thereby promoting Hakka craftsmanship worldwide and raising the industry’s profile.

The“Ruma Sinsi”project centers on the Heping Tribe,Wufeng Township, introducing AI and XR technologies to develop smart tourism guides,3D modeling, and metaverse archives.

It integrates cultural preservation, mental health, and tourism development to foster resilient tribal industries.

Faculty and students participated in Cultural Survey Camp and Mintuyu Tribal Blessing Event, deepening cultural understanding and co-creation.

The university’s USR engagement has now expanded to 16 sites in Hsinchu County and City, with over 500 student participants.

Faculty and students jointly transform academic expertise into local innovation capacity, shaping a model of“Integration of Learning and Practice for Shared Local Prosperity.”

III. Industry-Academia Collaboration

Based on each college’s disciplinary strengths, the university continues to deepen media and design practical education.

The Department of Mass Communication established a live broadcast team under the Omni Media Live Streaming Center and signed a MOU with ELTA TV to jointly produce live broadcasts of Kabaddi and tennis events at the National Middle School Athletic Games and the National Intercollegiate Athletic Games.(Figure 5)

Students Lin -Ting and Lin -Jun were selected for ELTA’s Olympic broadcast internship team, while Yeh -Ting and Chen ○-Hsuan participated in the FISU World University Games internship, demonstrating strong professional competence.

The department also partnered with Hsinchu Cathay General Hospital to produce the program“Medical Connect,”

The Department of Visual Communication Design and the Department of Mass Communication jointly formed the U-start team“Lin Lin Art Studio,”「林林后的世代」(Figure 6)focusing on sustainable design and local revitalization.

The team was recognized with the Excellence Award in Phase II of the 2025 U-Start Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program, administered by the Youth Development Administration,Ministry of Education, receiving a grant of NT$600,000.

They also signed multiple MOUs with businesses.Their works integrate recycled wood design and STEAM-based educational materials, combining educational value and business potential.

The university continues to integrate teaching, research, and entrepreneurship resources while promoting practical courses, corporate visits, and startup competitions.

These initiatives cultivate students’ innovation and entrepreneurship capacity and reinforce effective industry–academia cooperation, bridging theory and practice.

IV. Enhancing the Public Role of Higher Education

To ensure educational equity and social mobility, the university implements the“Matrix Counseling for Economically Disadvantaged Students,”building a three-dimensional support mechanism encompassing financial aid, academic support, and employability development.

Based on students’grade levels and needs, the university provides scholarships, internship stipends, and diverse learning incentives, helping students“replace part-time work with learning”while maintaining academic and financial stability.

To strengthen self-directed learning and career readiness, the university offers courses and workshops on learning strategies, professional certifications, and international mobility, encouraging interdisciplinary learning and overseas internships.

In 2025,graduates from economically disadvantaged backgrounds achieved an average monthly salary of NT$34,897 and a 71% employment rate one year after graduation —both higher than the Ministry of Labor’s national average of 67.08%—demonstrating the program’s effectiveness.

Furthermore, the university continues to integrate resources from the Centers for Academic Affairs,Student Affairs,Career Counseling, and Student Counseling under the“Guidance Before Reward”principle.”

This ensures individualized support and diverse growth opportunities, enabling economically disadvantaged students to study with confidence, strengthen employability, and progressively achieve the goal of education as a driver of social mobility.
