Summary of Goal Achievement and Highlights
Project A : Advancement in Teaching Innovation
- 7 new Interdisciplinary Education Program added in the 2023-2024 academic year, covering various fields such as Forensic Medicine, Art Therapy, and optometry & biomedicine, with a cumulative enrollment of 385 students.
- Promoting OSCE skills examinations to strengthen students' clinical practice abilities and expand internship sites. The Department of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology has been recognized by the Ministry of Education as a model school.
- Offering courses in digital healthcare and medical artificial intelligence, cultivating students' innovative abilities through lectures and workshops, organizing medical innovation competitions, and providing industry channels to facilitate the implementation and employment opportunities for promising projects.
- 6 teachers participating in growth communities received ‘Moe Teaching Practice Research Program’ grants from the Ministry of Education's, and our school will use internal funding to provide teachers who did not receive ‘Moe Teaching Practice Research Program’ grants.
Project B: University Social Responsibility
- The USR curriculum integrates interdisciplinary and social design elements, combined with the PBL teaching method, allowing students from different departments to collaborate in solving the health problems of the elderly, promoting health and health literacy empowerment through field practice. Achieving the goal of intergenerational learning by increasing from 8 events in 2023 to 79 events in 2024.
- Promoting a dedicated "Mackay Day" for interdisciplinary community practice sites, with 2 departments offering joint social responsibility practice sessions.
- Collaborating with New Taipei Municipal Jinshan High School to establish a joint laboratory and promoting the "Mackay-Jinshan Golden Bell Speech" course, assisting them in obtaining approval to establish a mathematics and science experimental class in 2024 and assisting in guiding students from Jinshan High School and Sanzhi Junior High School in winning awards in science exhibitions.
- Cooperating with the curriculum to assist community children in early detection and intervention of potential disabilities, reducing regional disparities in medical resources, and allowing students to have early exposure to clinical cases.
Project C: Industry-Academia Collaboration
- Based on the patent that our school possessed, the University is collaborating with industry to develop hearing loss health food products and incorporating relevant knowledge into the curriculum, cultivating students' sensitivity to industry needs and their employability.
- Established Research Center for Regenerative & Translational Medicine and GTP laboratory to provide funding for faculty's integrated research projects focusing on regenerative medicine research, providing students with the same teaching environment as the industry, and enhancing the University's industry-academia strength.
- Conducting biological component analysis and anti-aging effect development of water bamboo, utilizing biomedical technology to discover undefined special components, promoting the development of anti-aging and regenerative medicine-related products, and accelerating the transformation and upgrading of local industries.
Project D: Enhancing the Public Nature of Higher Education
- Since 2023, the University has been providing educational opportunities for students from disadvantaged families, new immigrants, remote areas, and we also provided comprehensive support, including scholarships, living allowances, and learning resources; providing educational opportunities for outstanding students in their department, students from remote areas and neighboring regions, expanding educational equity and diversity.
- Since 2023, the University has been organizing Institutional Research project competitions. A team has successfully promoted the establishment of Ubike on campus with the topic of "Research on the Campus's External Transportation Network".
- Disclosure of information on institutional and financial affairs for up to 6 years, establishing a long-term institutional data tracking platform.
- All faculty, staff, and students can access the minutes of meetings related to student rights, ensuring transparency in the decision-making process and safeguarding student rights.
