Dayeh’s liberal education is founded by the ideas of “Integration” and “Holistic education of Four-willing”, aims to develop students who are eager to study, act, contribute, and assume responsibility. The curriculum aligns with both business and society requirements. We enhance students’ logical thinking, information technology capabilities, humanistic concern, and communication abilities, by establishing the “D-Infinity Academy,” and organizing activities such as liberal education competitions (SDGs essay contests and creative projects).
The “D-Infinity Academy” focuses on general knowledge, digital literacy, flexibility in Chinese and English. Offers three micro-courses, including digital technologies and applications, STEAM environmental education, and narrative communication. These courses address trending topics such as AI and SDGs. Additionally, the curriculum integrates outside resources and industry partnerships, such as creative proposal training in collaboration with KGI Bank. Through mentorship, team collaboration, and proposal presentations, students develop creativity and problem-solving skills.
Furthermore, the university employs a PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) mechanism to ensure course quality. This comprehensive system covers faculty development, exemplary case studies, issue integration, student engagement, skill development, and course evaluation, forming a complete roadmap for liberal education reform. In 2024, Dayeh University was recognized by the Ministry of Education’s iGer program as a Good Practice University at liberal education, showcasing the effectiveness of its reforms.

Since the 2021 academic year, the Department of Applied Japanese at Da-Yeh University has been implementing the Ministry of Labor’s Employment Program to help students gain early workplace experience through interdisciplinary learning and corporate internships. The “International Business Administration and Interdisciplinary Training Program” received funding from the Ministry of Labor for the 2024 academic year, marking the fourth consecutive year of support. In 2024, students obtained 68 Level B professional certifications in related interdisciplinary fields.
According to Dr. Mei-Li Lee, Chair of the Department of Applied Japanese, the program integrates Japanese language training with practical learning and features industry professionals as instructors. Through specialized courses and internships, students build expertise in interdisciplinary fields. Over the past two years, students have successfully passed the MICE Professional Certification Exam, with several excelling in internships at exhibition companies and securing employment offers prior to graduation.
In response to the Ministry of Labor’s Employment Program reforms, the department introduced full-time internships for seniors in 2023. Participating students attend Employability Skill Courses funded by the Ministry of Labor before entering their internships, allowing them to develop and refine their workplace skills comprehensively.
Leveraging Information Technology Skills: Guiding Students to Solve Cross-disciplinary Challenges in External Competitions

Professor Lun-Min Shih from the department of computer science and information engineering (CSIE), and Professor Yi-Hao Lai from the department of finance and banking, successfully guided CSIE students to reach the top 20 in the preliminary round of the 2023 Legal Tech Hackathon. Collaborating with attorney Jun-Ming Hsu, the team developed an interdisciplinary system utilizing large language models (LLMs) and generative AI through Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). The system analyzes traffic accident descriptions and related judgments and provides a search service that identifies the most similar judgments and summarizes compensation amounts. This innovation significantly reduces time costs, advancing AI applications in regulatory compliance.
Additionally, in the N YOUNG CITY: NEXT AI Creative Ideation Competition hosted by the Changhua County Youth Development Department, Professors Lun-Min Shih (CSIE), Yi-Hao Lai (Finance), and Deng-Yuan Huang (Electrical Engineering) mentored students who achieved notable results, including one honorable mention in the Changhua IP group and two finalist awards in the Urban Space and Lifestyle Imagination groups. Through these competitions, students gained hands-on experience, enhanced their ability to apply AI technologies to practice innovative solutions and solve their problems.
DYU Wins Double Championship and Takes Home Four Trophies at the National Eco-Friendly Vehicle Competition

The Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering and the Department of Industrial Design at Da-Yeh University demonstrated outstanding performance at the 32nd National College Eco-Energy Vehicle Competition, organized by SAE ROC (Society of Automotive Engineers of the Republic of China). Competing against teams from 10 universities and over 100 participants nationwide, Da-Yeh University’s three teams claimed four awards, including Dynamic Race Champion, Overall Award, Dynamic Race Third Place, and Fourth Place in Vehicle Construction, becoming a highlight of the event.
Guided by faculty mentors, the student teams combined theory with practical application to achieve remarkable results. The “Rimitto Sho” team from the Department of Mechanical Engineering secured First Place in the Dynamic Race with 16 laps on the main course and 16 laps on the bonus course. The “RV139” team, also from Mechanical Engineering, earned Third Place in the Dynamic Race with 15.5 laps on the main course and 15 laps on the bonus course. Meanwhile, the “Rampage the Horizon” team from the Department of Industrial Design won the Overall Award and Fourth Place in Vehicle Construction.
The students fearlessly tackled the challenging “Paradise Road” bonus course and showcased exceptional resilience, adaptability, and perseverance when faced with unforeseen competition challenges. Their outstanding performance reflects the university’s strong foundation in green technology research and design.
DYU Leads Private Universities in Changhua, Nantou, Yunlin, and Chiayi with the Most Approved Projects in the 2022-2024 Teaching Practice Research Program
Under the foundation of the university’s teaching initiatives, faculty members have successfully applied for external resources. From the 2023 to 2024 academic years, the university submitted 63 teaching practice research projects, with 34 approved, a success rate of 53.9%, exceeding the national average of 43.6% for the same period. Notably, four faculty members have been consecutively awarded the Ministry of Education’s Teaching Practice Research Program funding for six years. During this period, the university’s faculty received recognition for three consecutive years for outstanding teaching practice research projects selected by the Ministry of Education. Additionally, the university hosted the 2023 Dayeh University Symposium on Innovative Teaching and Teaching Practice Research, producing a collection of impactful papers.
The university also established the Teaching Practice Research (SoTL) Subsidy Program to support projects that were not approved by the Ministry of Education but demonstrate significant development potential. Faculty members who received this internal funding were subsequently awarded Ministry of Education grants at the following year, highlights our university’s support for teaching projects and contribution to enhance faculty success in securing external teaching grants.
Fostering international talents in diversified overseas training routes

Dayeh University is committed to fostering international exchange through strategic partnerships with prestigious institutions and participation in the Ministry of Education’s Study Abroad Program. The university provides students with diverse opportunities for overseas learning, including short-term study programs, overseas study tours, international internships, and international volunteer teams. In 2023 to 2024 years, the university received 7.82 million NTD in subsidies under the Study Abroad Program, ranking third among universities in the Changhua, Nantou, Yunlin, and Chiayi counties. Additionally, we have been awarded funding under the Bilingual Education Program for three consecutive years (2023 to 2025).
• Overseas internships are available for Japanese majors at ANA Intercontinental Hotel, Manza Beach Resort, Ashigara International Hotel, Mimatsu, and Muji in Singapore.
• Department of Hospitality and Management students traveled to Eastern Tiger Restaurant in Australia and Roots 2 STEM for an internship in Canada.
• The Department of Nursing took its students on an international exchange tour to Chiang Mai, Thailand, Mount Sinai Phillips School of Nursing in New York, and the University of the Pacific College of Optometry in the United States.
• The Department of Tourism and Travel Management offered internship opportunities to the Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites in Los Angeles, California.
• Student interns from the Department of Visual Communication Design went to London, UK, to work on film and television production and curating design.
• The Department of Architecture and Interior Design arranged visits to ICS design schools in Japan, Hong Kong enterprises, and Spain to participate in the joint exhibition, and offered exchange programs with Carrara Institute of Art in Italy.

Da-Yeh University's energy-saving measures include solar-powered streetlights at Solar Plaza, which generate electricity from sunlight.
In 2024, our university received gold medal for “Energy Saving Benchmark Award” from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, ranking first among comprehensive universities nationwide. The university has actively implemented its “Sustainable Campus” policy by installing solar power systems and progressively increasing renewable energy capacity. Through the development of campus energy management system, human centric LED lighting system, the comprehensive replacement of LED streetlights, high-efficiency solar assisted heat pump units, and monitoring systems, among other energy saving measures, the university has achieved remarkable results. Over the past three years, we have saved 2.24 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, representing a 7.3% reduction in energy consumption.With six consecutive gold medals for “Energy Conservation Benchmark Award,” the university stands as a leading example of a low-carbon, sustainable “green” university.
Taiwan's Hub for Tea Talent Development: From Tea Science to Tea Culture, Students Win Top Awards at the 6th Jin-Zhi and Jin-Ming Awards

Dayeh University has advanced tea studies by establishing the “Tea Research Base,” meeting Ministry of Labor level C standards for tea manufacture technology. Through the University Social Responsibility (USR) program, our university integrate tea science and culture into our curriculum, achievement of 100% pass rate for 370 exam participants over two years.
In collaboration with the Tea Research and Extension Station, Ministry of Agriculture, our university is an authorized organization of elementary and intermediate level for tea sensory evaluation and has hosted the “National Creative Tea Brewing Competition” for two years with this year’s team, Pharmaceutical Botanicals and Health Applications student Wang and Hospitality Management student Guo—securing third place.
Through the USR program, our university partnered with Li-Zhi High School to train 20 participants to become certified tea masters.
The university has showcased its “Low-Carbon Tea Industry” at the Nantou Global Tea Expo for five years. Students earned top awards at the 6th Jin-Zhi Award and Jin-Ming Awards, contributing to the sustainable development of Taiwan’s tea industry and expanding the university’s influence
DYU Touted as Taiwan's First SDGs On-Campus Practicing Field

DYU has recently announced the upgrade of its R&D base to foster collaboration between industry and academia, deepen their linkage with SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), and to establish the first physical SDGs campus practicing field in Taiwan. Under this initiative, it is planned to set up five SDGs practicing fields on campus targeted at water recycling, carbon inventory, clean energy, along with earth-friendly agricultural production. These areas will help to create a physical environment for secondary schools to develop teaching materials and lesson plans, and to cultivate awareness of sustainable lifestyles.
Moreover, the university has also formed a “Changhua Sustainable Strategy Alliance” with nearly 80 institutions, extending sustainable education to communities, schools, and organizations. This initiative achieves three main goals, include building the base of sustainable education, enabling practical applications, and implementation of industry collaboration.
This campus program based on SDGs has received consecutive accolades, including the bronze award in SDGs4 (Quality Education) at the 2023 Taiwan Sustainability Action Award (TSAA) and Environmental Management Leadership at the 2024 Taiwan Sustainable University Award.
Additionally, the university actively promotes regional sustainable development by offering SDGs experiential courses. From 2023 to 2024, it hosted 35 visits, attracted 1,117 participants, including international scholars from Indonesia and Japan, as well as teachers and students from alliance schools. These efforts have successfully expanded DYU’s influence in sustainability.
Innovative Water Resource Management and SDGs Practice Achieve New Milestones, Earning Multiple Sustainability Awards

Dayeh has established five practice fields as platforms for students, faculties, and industries to address global challenges. Our SDGs initiatives earned the 2023 TSAA bronze award for SDGs4 “Quality Education.” The university is in first place of private university in the GreenMetric Taiwan University rankings for ten years. And has improved in the 2024 THE World University Impact Rankings, with SDG 17 rising to the range of 801 to 1000, ranking between 401 to 600 in SDGs2 and SDGs14.
Recognized with the 2024 Taiwan University Sustainability Awards – Environmental Restoration Leadership Award, our “Water Force” initiative highlights innovative water management and environmental education. Systems like rainwater recycling and MBR wastewater treatment saved 7,000 tons of water annually, showcasing excellence in sustainability.
Enhancing Capacity of 7 R&D Bases, Creating 117 Industry-Academia Projects, Accumulating Over NT$53 Million in Industry-Academia Outcomes
Dayeh University continues to advance its research and development (R&D) centers through strategic academic and industrial collaborations. Notably, the Coating Laboratory will transition into a Semiconductor R&D Center in 2024, aligning with government policies to cultivate semiconductor industry talent.
From 2023 to 2024, seven R&D centers facilitated 117 industry-academia collaboration projects, securing over 53 million NTD in funding. Faculty members demonstrated research prowess by publishing 59 journal articles and participating in 83 conferences. Additionally, student guidance in external competitions resulted in 25 major awards.
These R&D centers integrate their achievements with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), applying research outcomes to practical fields and establishing a campus model for SDG implementation. This approach effectively nurtures key talent essential for industry development.
Cultivating Students' Triple Innovation Abilities: Organizing Da-Yeh Entrepreneurship Incubation Village with Outstanding Results in International Competitions

Our university is committed to cultivating students’ C.I.E. (Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship) abilities by encouraging participation in various activities that enhance practical competitiveness. These include the National Science and Technology Council’s undergraduate projects and numerous competitions. Participation increased from 832 instances in 2023 to 856 in 2024, achieving remarkable results in these competitions:
• College of Engineering’s research team won 4 golds, 5 silvers, and 1 bronze at the 15th IIIC International Invention Competition (2024); 6 gold medals in the 2023 Korea WiC World Invention Contest and 5 golds in 2024; and silver, bronze, and the MSI Special Award at the 2024 Taiwan Innotech Expo.
• Students of Spatial Design Department claimed the gold, bronze, and merit awards in the 2024 EVA Air ESG Sustainable Innovation Design Competition (Spatial Design group).
• The “Shleep” team of multimedia design department won the Best Animation Award at the 9th CA the Pro. Short Film Festival and received honorable mention in the 2023 Vision Get Wild Awards (3D Animation group).
• Students of Pharmaceutical Botanicals and Health Applications Department earned second place, third place, and the vitality award in the 6th International Jin-ji Award (Advanced Level), as well as second place, three merit awards, and the vitality award in the Jin-ming Award.
• Students of Hospitality and Tourism department won 2 golds and 3 silvers in the FHC China International CulinaryArts Competition and a silver medal at the Battle of the Chefs Competition.
• Students of English department achieved championship honors in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Program – World Changer International Competition and the International Future Potential Psychologist Competition.
• Students of Information Management secured first place, third place, and three merit awards in the Taiwan Culture and Sustainable Development: AI Visual Creation Postcard Design Competition.
In addition, the university continues to implement the Ministry of Education’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Curriculum. From 2022 to 2023, we held 37 mentoring courses and workshops, total of 95 hours, featured entrepreneurial teams and advisors from northern, central, and southern Taiwan to foster an entrepreneurial environment.
In 2024, we hosted the National SDGs Innovation and Creativity Competition, attracting 23 teams (138 participants) from various universities. This event promoted the importance of aligning industry practices with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and advancing sustainability initiatives.
Zero-Carbon Research Achievements Recognized, Faculty and Students Collaborate to Assist 41 Companies with Carbon Audits

Responding to global climate change, Dayeh University has established an interdisciplinary Industrial Net Zero Emission Advisory Group since 2022. The initiative promotes circular economy and net zero emissions through comprehensive industry support and academic expertise.
By 2024, the university has supported 41 companies and guided the Fangyuan and Shetou industrial parks in Ministry of Economic Affairs projects for eight consecutive years. The advisory group offers carbon footprint verification, assists in carbon audits, and helps companies set annual carbon reduction goals.
In 2023, the university executed 10 SDGs-aligned net zero reduction projects. Student achievements include one internship at Highwealth Construction, four job placements, and one student joining Denmark's VENTO Wind Energy Company.
Research highlights include Professor Huan-Liang Tsai's IoT carbon footprint monitoring system, which won the Chen Conglin Creativity Award. Dean Qinghua Li developed lithium battery recycling technologies, securing two invention patents and winning gold at the Korea WiC World Invention Contest. The project received a 1 million NTD donation from Diamonchem International Co., Ltd., supporting resource recycling research.
These efforts demonstrate the university's commitment to nurturing professionals with both technical expertise and sustainable thinking, addressing global environmental challenges through innovative research and industry collaboration.
Effective Measures for Education Access: Proportion of Students Receiving Assistance in Financially Challenging Situations Increased to 84%

Our university provides comprehensive academic support measures to help students replace part-time job with learning opportunities, alleviating the financial burden faced by some students. In addition to offering a variety of scholarships and financial aid programs, the university tailors learning projects to meet individual student needs, effectively reducing economic pressure. The participation rate of economically disadvantaged students in these support programs has increased significantly, from 58.3% in 2018 to 84% in 2024, reflecting a substantial rise in engagement.

An analysis of the academic performance of economically disadvantaged students participating in these programs from 2018 to 2024 reveals that those involved in the comprehensive academic support initiatives consistently outperformed both non-participating disadvantaged students and the general student population in overall academic achievement.
Combining Contextual Teaching and Mentorship: Students Achieve Outstanding Certification Exam Results, With Pass Rates Far Above the National Average

Our university encourages students to obtain professional certifications and qualifications to enhance their employability. To support economically disadvantaged students who may struggle with the high costs of certification exams, we offer learning opportunities as an alternative to part-time job, providing self-study and certification practice subsidies as well as incentives for successful certification. The outcomes are as follows:
• Department of Mechanical Engineering: 27 students earned the SolidWorks 3D Design CSWP (Certified SolidWorks Professional) certification (7 with perfect scores), while 8 students obtained the CSWA (Certified SolidWorks Associate) certification (4 with perfect scores).
• Department of Spatial Design: 18 students successfully passed the level B Technician Certificate in Interior Decoration and Repair Management of a Building.
• Department of Hospitality Management: Achieved an 85% pass rate for the Level B Technician Certificate in Beverages Preparation, significantly higher than the national average of 30%.
• Department of Pharmaceutical and Health Sciences: Students obtained the Foundation Certificate from Royale Australian Federation Aromatherapists and the International Certificate in Swedish Massage.
• Department of Exercise and Health Sciences: Achieved a 100% pass rate for Examination for Powerboat and Yacht Master’s Licenses.
• From 2023 to 2024, the pass rates for the National Nursing License Examination, Optical Technician Examination, and Level B Beverages Preparation Technician Certificate all exceeded the national average.
International Buddy Meet-and-Greet: Enthusiastic Interaction Bridges Cultural Differences

The International Language Center, Chinese Language Center, and Language Instruction Resource Center at Da-Yeh University jointly organized the “Meet and Greet with Aesthetic Chinese Zither” event. Through the enchanting melodies of Chinese Zither performances, the event aimed to introduce international students to the essence of culture through the power of music, enhancing their interest in learning Chinese. It also provided opportunities for interaction between Taiwanese and international students, fostering language partnerships and breaking cultural barriers through enthusiastic exchanges.
The Chinese Language Center offers diverse learning platforms for international students, focusing on the three aesthetics of beauty in art, cuisine, and environment. Through a variety of activities, the center not only supports students in learning Chinese but also guides them in exploring Taiwanese culture, promoting cross-cultural understanding.
International students shared their valuable experiences from the event. Master, a sophomore from Eswatini studying in the Department of English, said the courses offered by the Chinese Language Center have greatly benefited him. Last semester, he took two Chinese language courses and has since learned basic Chinese, enabling him to communicate with clerks while shopping. He also expressed appreciation for the department’s teachers, who care not only about students’ academic progress but also about their adaptation to life in Taiwan. During his time here, he has made many great friends.
