National Quemoy University-The Achievements and Highlights of the Higher Education Sprout Project for 2023-2024

I. Teaching Innovation and Improvement




  1. Continuously promoting institutional research and tracking application effectiveness, including campus-wide core issue analysis and multi-dimensional analysis of various departments and faculties.

  2. Advancing interdisciplinary study mechanisms and expanding diverse pathways, with students completing the program increasing from 3 to 17.

  3. Wuzhou College organized 20 thematic lectures, 11 liberal arts and cultural events, 3 evening dialogues with masters, 5 environmental education activities, and 2 domestic volunteer services, integrating local elements to highlight regional characteristics.

  4. Encouraging students to plan their own learning journeys by subsidizing 8 groups (4 individual, 4 team) to undertake study tours abroad, fostering experiential learning outside the classroom.

  5. Supporting 43 groups of faculty and students to participate in various off-campus professional and academic competitions, achieving outstanding results and demonstrating high-quality learning outcomes.



II. Fulfilling Social Responsibility




  1. Invited seven renowned writers, including Dai Chen-Chih, Lin Hwai-min, and Wu Juan-Yu, to give lectures, promote reading, and hold book signing events. Additionally, Li Chi-Mao's students, in collaboration with the Kinmen Art Association and Watercolor Association, hosted two master-level ink painting exhibitions, providing a refined artistic experience for faculty, students, and residents.

  2. Collaborated with the Jin-Ning Township Health Center to conduct "Community Integrated Screening" services and implemented the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s Integrated Care for Older People (ICOPE), enhancing health self-assessment for the elderly and community members.

  3. Actively promoted the integration of green energy and IoT technology in Kinmen, establishing two independent, decentralized energy data collection and smart energy charging stations.



III. Industry-Academia Collaboration




  1. Developed unique industry-academia services, creating products such as black garlic noodles, sorghum-based low-glycemic baked goods, sorghum lees-aged beef, and herbal essential oil derivatives. Facilitated local industry development by coordinating 35 industry-academia collaboration projects.

  2. Cultivated talent for Kinmen University’s specialty industries, with the "AR Acupoint Analysis—Qi Huang’s Secrets" winning three awards. Collaborated with the nursing department to develop three interdisciplinary teaching software programs, as well as VR games themed on the "823 Artillery Battle" and multiplayer shooting games. Guided students to participate in three robotics competitions, earning four awards and developing storytelling robots and AI robotic dogs.

  3. Offered innovation and entrepreneurship courses and hosted the "K.Star National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Hackathon" to incubate entrepreneurial teams focused on solving local issues.



IV. Enhancing Public Access to Higher Education




  1. Provided reserved admissions quotas and reduced registration fees for economically or culturally disadvantaged students. From 2022 to 2024, 268 students benefited from a priority admissions mechanism, with cumulative registration fee reductions exceeding NT$200,000.

  2. Held five self-managed health and diet activities, with 387 economically disadvantaged students participating in 2023.

  3. Assisted in one-on-one health consultations and psychological counseling, providing 145 health consultations, 162 psychological counseling sessions, 155 career planning consultations, and 164 group counseling sessions for economically disadvantaged students in 2023.

  4. Promoted Indigenous cultural heritage through four career talks, two cultural lectures (211 participants), seven traditional craft workshops (82 participants), and three Indigenous student forums (57 participants).
