I. Advancements in Pedagogical Innovation
A. Introduction of a Micro-Credit Autonomous Course Solicitation Mechanism: Established a unique learning pathway for micro-credit courses, which includes both faculty-driven course applications and a new student-initiated course model. This initiative fosters proactive student engagement, enhances interactive learning between faculty and students, and inspires innovative pedagogical approaches, reinforcing the principles of autonomous learning.
B. Development of Cross-Disciplinary Autonomous Learning Teams: Supported university-wide teams that embody core values of student-driven learning. Among them, the Oral Storytelling Team has, for the fourth consecutive year, received official TED authorization, curating the 2024 TEDxProvidenceUniversity conference under the theme Singular Point.
C. Facilitation of an International Engagement Platform: Organized the “411 Study Abroad Carnival,” which infused the campus with global culture and brought together exchange students, sister schools, and consular representatives. This event provided students with up-to-date study abroad insights, contributing to a 60-student increase in international study participants, reaching a total of 432 in 2024.
II. Commitment to Social Responsibility
A. Cultivation of Cross-Disciplinary Service Teams: Established a campus-wide interdisciplinary alliance that encourages students to collaborate across academic boundaries, forming service teams that engage in challenges beyond their primary areas of study. This program develops innovative, service-oriented talent proficient in teamwork, event planning, and complex problem-solving.
B. Promotion of Global Citizenship and Responsibility: Launched an international service learning program to extend professional expertise and service-oriented values internationally, with teams providing impactful service in Malaysia and the Philippines. A subsequent service outcome exchange session offered a platform for showcasing achievements, fostering joint faculty-student development and expanding international awareness.
III. Strengthening Industry-Academia Collaboration
A. Creation of Digital Innovation Career Support Resources: Developed digital tools to support students’ career readiness, including a “Digital Career Support Zone” and a series of career counseling videos. These digital resources, complemented by additional programs, equip students with essential skills to bridge academic knowledge with professional industry requirements, facilitating effective workforce integration.
B. Recognition for Practical Educational Outcomes: Ranked by Global Views as one of the “Top 10 Universities in ICT in 2024” and “Top 2 Private Universities,” Providence University has vigorously promoted problem-based participatory learning and a “learning by doing” framework, producing graduates with advanced skills in ICT research and applied development.
IV. Enhancing the Public Role of Higher Education
A. Modular Academic Support Program Implementation: Provided structured, self-directed learning resources and tools through modularized programs with a single-access platform and electronic submission system. This structure streamlines students' engagement with academic support systems, enabling systematic and achievable goal-setting each semester.
B. Strengthening of Indigenous Student Support Systems: Enhanced the Indigenous Resource Center’s “one-stop service” model, encompassing immediate consultation services and a supportive communication framework. This initiative connects with seven academic and administrative units, facilitating cross-departmental collaborations that broaden indigenous student support networks and promote indigenous educational activities across campus.
C. Commitment to Institutional Self-Governance and Information Transparency: In alignment with university governance strategies, the institution rigorously evaluates its self-governance practices and ensures transparency through publicly accessible information disclosures, thereby fulfilling its accountability obligations to the public.
