2022 Annual Achievement Report - Main Project of National Taiwan Sport University

 

    In terms of the master plan of National Taiwan Sport University, NTD 36,502,100 was subsidized for plan implementation at Stage 1 in 2018, with an objective achievement rate of more than 94%. In 2019, NTD 36,502,100 was subsidized, with an objective achievement rate of more than 94.6%. In 2020, NTD 37,710,530 was subsidized, with an objective achievement rate of more than 85.96. In 2021, NTD 36,235,044 was subsidized, with an objective achievement rate of more than 94.96.In 2022, NTD 37,763,137 was subsidized, and the actual expense was NTD 37,762,791, with a fund utilization rate of 100.00% and an objective achievement rate of more than 94.83%.

 

 

A. Implementation of teaching innovation

    In the aspect of student learning, the students’ learning of language and information was improved. The students have been encouraged to form learning communities by themselves. Teaching assistant resources and professional skill classrooms have been used to encourage students to create peer joint learning relationships. In the aspect of teacher growth, the teachers have been encouraged to form communities and develop digital teaching materials. With the exchanges with domestic/foreign experts and scholars and incentives for teacher growth, teachers have been encouraged to learn new knowledge and engage in cross-domain cooperation to stimulate research and teaching energy. In the aspect of course learning, courses of creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship, micro courses, deep bowl courses, and cross-domain thematic course modules have been established. Moreover, industry teachers’ collaborative teaching has also been used to encourage the students to get rid of the planning of existing courses, activate teaching innovation, and trigger students’ learning interest. In the aspect of international exchanges, the students have been encouraged to organize their own teams to go overseas or engage in online exchanges, promote overseas professional internships and dual education systems to enhance students’ knowledge and increase employment opportunities. National Taiwan Sport University has also organized international exchange activities. For example, in 2021, Dr. Gertrud Pfister from Denmark and Professor Gerald Gems from the United States were invited to hold international symposiums both physically and online to stabilize the professional academic exchanges globally. In the aspect of connection with career planning, the industry internship mentor system has been established to handle career counseling and alumni seminars, create a friendly entrepreneurial training team and entrepreneurial environment and other innovative practices, and guide students to acquire professional skills in school and apply them in the industry.

B. Development of school characteristics

    In the aspect of happiness economy characteristics, the field freshmen training courses, marine recreation sports coaching talent cultivation plan, and international outdoor adventure leadership programs have been planned to cultivate recreational sports professionals in field education, water recreation, and outdoor adventures. The students’ basic skills in community management in the era of new media have been cultivated. Besides, the students’ creative images and audio/video works have been triggered through video workshops and industry-university cooperation for commercial marketing. In the aspect of characteristics of athletics competitions, the curriculum modules of muscle strength and physical training, coaching, and adaptive triage of outstanding athletes have been used to develop and assist students in seeking suitable careers, as well as to build a database of sports talents to increase the possibility of open and fair circulation of sports talent resources in Taiwan. In the aspect of characteristics of sports education model, the discussion and promotion of the Olympic spirit have been intensified through courses and volunteers, sports humanistic literacy has been illustrated through documentaries, and the employment competitiveness of future sports teachers has been enhanced through the design of multiple sports teacher courses and the development of sports lesson plans. In the aspect of characteristics of healthy LOHAS, in response to the demand for sports talents in an aging society, the University has used creative sports health practice courses to strengthen the students’ ability, implemented the active aging learning value-added program to put into practice the friendly care for the elderly, and established a sports health promotion curriculum development center for middle-aged and elderly people to encourage the students to apply what they have learned.

C. Improvement of the publicity in higher education

    In the aspect of students, the University has encouraged economically and culturally disadvantaged students (bursary students) to strengthen their willingness and opportunities to study through the promotion and management of relevant mechanisms. The University has continued to hold promotion activities in rural areas, high school student experience camps, and bursaries for realizing dreams to assist potential students (not enrolled yet). After enrollment, the University also provides bursary students with related study guidance and bursary mechanism. In the aspect of teachers, the University mainly maintains the faculty structure to maintain the teacher-student ratio and encourages multiple upgrades of teachers to maintain the quality of teaching. In the aspect of the system, the university safeguards students’ right to speak and propose suggestions, improves the disclosure of school affairs and research information, and implements a self-improvement mechanism.

D. Fulfillment of social responsibility

    National Taiwan Sport University takes “health promotion,” “local care,” “environmental sustainability,” and “cultural sustainability” as the development objectives and makes good use of the characteristics of National Taiwan Sport University’s professional sports and leisure to develop various services, such as fitness guidance, healthy sports, etc. The university implements the caring spirit of university social responsibility to provide service to rural children, middle-aged and senior citizens, as well as continues to carry out fund-raising plans and implement international USR overseas service learning activities.
