Tea Research and Extension Station Cooperate with DaYeh University to Jointly Cultivate Talents of the Tea Industry and Present the Result at the Nantou Global Tea Expo 


DaYeh university establishes the Tea Research Base and helps upgrade the industry. In addition, the school actively organizes courses and activities to cultivate talents for recognizing the needs of the tea industry. The program participated in the 2022 Nantou Global Tea Expo to present the school's fruitful achievements.

 

DaYeh University Industry-Academic Co-Create Cross-Domain Products via Technology Empowerment in the Post-Pandemic Era for Health and Beauty 

Industry-academic co-created cross-domain products! DaYeh University Innovation Incubator Center, “Cosmetics Technology Upgrading Consulting and Industry Promotion Platform: One-stop for Health and Beauty Union,” was subsidized by National Science Council to assist the digital transformation of the industry. 


DaYeh University Got Third Place in the National Creative Marketing and Entrepreneur Competition and the Best Award for Creative Marketing


Management knowledge combined with creative marketing creates new business opportunities for local corporations. The College of Management, DaYeh University, participated in the 2022 Linker Unlimited PossibilitiesNational Colleges and Universities Creative Marketing and Entrepreneur Competition”. It was organized by CheerG Information Technology Co., Ltd., the Changhua County Government, and the Changhua County Introduction for Industrial Development & Investment Promotion Committee (IDIPC). DaYeh was awarded third place in the marketing copywriting planning group and the best creative marketing award. 


Cordyceps Militaris Benefits the Lungs and Kidneys and Improves Respiratory Tract Inflammation: DaYeh University Helps Dalong Biotechnology Co., Ltd. Obtain the Patent.

 

Dalong Biotechnology Co., Ltd. was founded nearly 20 years ago. In recent years, it has cooperated with the research team led by Prof. Tsai Ming Shiun of the Department of Medicinal Botanicals and Foods on Health Applications of DaYeh University. Laboratory tests have confirmed the protective effect of cordyceps militaris fruiting body capsules on the respiratory tract of mice, and the “cordyceps militaris compounds for improving respiratory diseases” have been patented.


 

Da-Yeh University Won Four Golds and Two Silvers at the 2022 WiC World Innovation and Invention Competition in Korea


Taiwan's inventions are sparkling in the world. Six inventions by the College of Engineering, DaYeh University, participated in Korea's 2022 WiC World Innovation and Invention Competition. The outstanding works won four golds and two silvers through the online judgment. The president of Da-Yeh University, Professor Yan Hong-Sen, said that the school emphasizes practical learning and three central educational policies: excellent teaching, industry-academic research and development, and sustainable management. Through mentorship, students develop and innovate their knowledge and find creative solutions to problems. 

 


DaYeh University Won One Gold and One Silver in Netherlands International Catering Competition, Gold Dessert Contestant Inspired by Life. 

Kuan, Shih-An, a student from the Bachelor Program for Baking and Beverage Management, DaYeh university, participated in Netherlands International Catering Competition (NICC). He produced a dessert titled “Joys and Sorrows” to present the pressure and bitterness in the study process and won the gold in the Delicate Dessert Category. Chi, Tung-Yu produced “Jack and the Magic Beans” and won silver in Art Bread Category.

 

Lin Yu-Wen from the Department of Plastic Art, DaYeh University, Won the Webtoon Category Award in the International Comic/Manga School Contest 

Lin Yu-Wen from the Department of Plastic Art, DaYeh University, participated in the 2022 International Comic/Manga School Contest. Her artwork, “Sun and Rain,” recorded the emotions of her and her grandmother and won the Webtoon Category Award. Lin appreciated the judges’ affirmation, feedback, and comments, which helped her refine her creative skills. She hopes to create warmer comics in the future. 


DaYeh University Trained International Diving Coaches who Got International Diving Certificates in Greenisland.

Scuba diving and the recreational industry are becoming more and more prevalent. The Department of Sport and Health Management, DaYeh University, cooperated with Bonny Worldwide Ltd. since 2018. They jointly trained international diving coaches. The “Leisure of Sport and Fitness in Scuba Diving” course guides students to get the PADI diving international certificate. All 23 students successfully got the certificates in 2022, which helped students be qualified for related employment upon graduation. 

 

Thriving with Seedlings: a Sparkling Spotlight Base Created 

The 2022 Asia-Pacific Forum & Exposition for Sustainability was held at the Taipei World Trade Center. DaYeh University set up an exhibition area entitled “Vibrant Greenery of the Landscape: the Sustainable Satoyama Tea of DaYeh.” At the event, the booth highlighted its University Social Responsibility (USR) and provided a unique tea fragrance experience and paper painting activities on the spot. Through the experiences of five-sense agriculture, the public felt the spirit of friendly agriculture.  


Changhua Tian-Sheng Elementary School Learns English with English Department, Guiding Students to the World Culture and Quality Living Environment.

 


DaYeh University actively engages in public welfare activities. The Department of English assisted local elementary schools in developing their features. Associate Prof. Chang Chih-Hui organized a summer camp funded by the Education of Administration, Ministry of Education at Tian-Sheng Elementary School. The children learned English in the summer camp through music from various countries. They visited DYU’s green campus and observed its energy-saving facilities and water quality testing operations. 


Mentorship Cooperating with Industry to Produce Green EnergyOffshore Wind Power Workforce Cultivation 

Nowadays, green energy is a global trend. Orsted Ltd., an international offshore wind power leading corporation, has been cooperating with DaYeh university and promoting the “Orsted and DaYeh Offshore Wind Power Mentorship Program” since 2019. Through industry-university cooperation, the program cultivates and maintains talents for the offshore wind power industry to localize wind power technology. Li, Ying-Chieh, a Mechanical and Automation Engineering student, and Cheng, Chung-Kai, a Department of Electrical Engineering student, were both selected as offshore wind power apprentices. They will follow international engineers to learn wind power technology. With good performance during the internship, they will have the opportunity to be employees at Orsted Ltd. 


Da-Yeh University's Electric Vehicle Wins Two Golds at the Eco-Energy Vehicle Competition 

The SAE International of Taipei Section organized the 30th National Eco-Energy Vehicle Competition. Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, DaYeh University, won two champions for the dynamic competition and the best energy saving; the former was the seventh consecutive championship. The Transform team from the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering ran 29 laps with minor battery power consumption. It got the top prize in Electric Vehicle Dynamic Competition, the Best Energy Saving Design Award, and the third prize in Vehicle Production Competition. The Rimitto Sho team won the fifth prize in Electric Vehicle Dynamic Competition. DaYeh University was the big winner of this year's competition, with five trophies. 


Learning English and Exchanging Culture between International Students from the Department of English and Ching Chung High School


The Department of English, DaYeh University, conducted University Social Responsibility (USR) Hub project, “Learning English Together” and cooperated with Ching Chung High School. International students from Vietnam, Indonesia, Jordan, Japan, and Mongolia introduced their hometown culture to local high school students. In the meantime, high school students guided international students to visit a well-known scenic site in Changhua, Mt. Bagua, to learn more about Taiwan. Through the project, teachers led students out of the classroom and connected Taiwan with international students’ hometowns thousands of miles away. The service learning benefited both international and local students and expanded their visions.


Passion Fruit Peel Transformed into Candied Fruit and Fruit CrispProducts by the Department of Medicinal Botanicals and Foods on Health Applications, DaYeh University.


The reuse of agricultural waste is a trend in the circular economy era. Wu, Chien-Yi, a professor at the Department of Medicinal Botanicals and Foods on Health Applications, DaYeh University, observed that after the pulp of passion fruit was removed, the discarded peel was almost half of the fruit. After researching and confirming that the peel also has nutritional value, he guided graduate students Chu Chih-Pei, Liao Chun-Ta, and Huang Chen-Kai to change the peel into candied fruit and passion fruit puffs. The project, “Sustainable Agricultural Technology Development for Reusing Abandoned Passion Fruit Peel: Candied Fruit and Passion Fruit Puffs,” turned waste into treasure and won excellent work in the “2022 Agricultural Concentration Changhua Idea Contest held by the Changhua County Government. 


From Concrete to AbstractHsiao I-Lien from the Plastic Art of Department, DaYeh University Won the First Prize in the Art Exhibition of Chia-Yi City

Hsiao I-Lien, a graduate student from the Plastic Art of Department DaYeh University, initially focused on concrete wood sculpture. He later explored the relationship between the image and the idea and created the abstract work “Undetermined, Formed.” The work took the form of a fetus to present one before being born. The fetus starts absorbing external stimuli and then gradually integrates with the world, building up the spirit under the transmission of various messages. His work participated in the 26th the Art Exhibition of Chia-Yi City and won the first prize in the sculpture category “Tien-Sheng Award.” He also won a prize of NT $150,000. The Chiayi Art Museum collects the work.


Nursing Faculties and Students Serve in Rural Areas to Develop the Spirit of Urbani

Yang, Cheng-I, the chairperson of the Department of Nursing, stated that human resources in remote areas have always been insufficient. The demand for the workforce has significantly increased during the pandemic prevention period. Therefore, the Department of Nursing selected rural public health centers as service targets, adhering to holistic care, careful care, and the production of happiness. The project aimed to enhance the health awareness of the local elderly and promote the physical and mental health of the silver-haired community for a better quality of life. With the financial support of the Taiwan Urbani Foundation, the “Rural Public Health Center Service” project cooperated with the Fuxing Township Public Health Center of Changhua County. DYU teachers and students participated in ten covid-19 vaccination activities and health education sessions. One hundred students participated and boosted their enthusiasm for caring for the community and serving the elderly during the process.


DaYeh University Won The First Place, The Third Place, and The Excellent Work at the 2022 Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Internship Consultant Competition

 

Huang Hao, Liu Che-Wei, and Hsieh Chia-Jung from the Department of Information Management, DaYeh University, participated in ERP Internship Consultant Cultivation Program organized by the Chinese Enterprise Resource Planning Society. During the two-month internship, the students learned the operation of finance, purchasing, distribution, cost accounting, and quality management systems and participated in enterprise case management. The industry recognized their excellent performance; also they won first and third place in the ERP Internship Consultant Competition and the excellent work.
