A Student from the Dept. of Creative Product Design at AU Obtains a Taiwan Sculpture Award Granted by the Taichung City Government
Shu-Xuan Wu, a sophomore student from the Department of Creative Product Design at Asia University (AU), participated in the First Taiwan Sculpture Award Competition which was organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Taichung City Government with her work "Not bad." Furthermore, the work was selected from more than 100 works and granted a Selection Award. As mentioned above, Mr. Neng-Ting Tseng, the deputy director of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Taichung City Government, said that most of the contestants for the Taiwan Sculpture Awards this year are artists who have much experiences, and so it is commendable that Shu-Xuan Wu wins the award because she is the youngest of the winners.(more.)
China Asia Associated University System Hosted
2021 International Conference on Advanced Biomedical Sciences

China Asia Associated University System hosted the “2021 International
Conference on Advanced Biomedical Sciences” (ICABS) on the campus in China
Medical University from December 19 to December 21. Ten Fellows from the United
States National Academy of Sciences (NAS), including two Nobel Prize laureates
in bio-chemistry, Dr. Randy W. Schekman and Dr. William G. Kaelin, and fourteen
internationally renowned cancer specialists and scholars, were invited to give
addresses online, sharing their expertise and research findings on the

AU and Drexel University in the USA Discuss
Cooperation of Dual-Degree Programs
Asia
University (AU) and the famous Drexel University in Pennsylvania, USA,
negotiated the details of cooperation through an online meeting on July 27,
including research, teaching, dual degrees, and exchanging teachers and
students. The two parties agreed to sign a cooperation agreement as soon as

Asia University Has an Online Lecture for Universitas Airlangga in Indonesia
Universitas Airlangga in Indonesia, one of
the sister schools of Asia University (AU), invited on June 14 Prof. Chi-Wen
Lung at the Department of Creative Product Design at AU to give a lecture on
medical product design, attracting nearly 50 teachers and students from
Indonesia. As mentioned above, AU conducts international academic exchanges

Asia University Holds a Career Expo and Participating
Companies Release Nearly 3,000 Jobs!

Jeffrey J. P. Tsai said that nearly 20 companies, including hospitals, optics
and medical equipment companies, etc., came to AU to recruit talents in the
career expo held by AU on May 12, and the achievement is through the hard work
of the College of Medical and Health Science, the College of Nursing, and the
Asia University Hospital (AUH) over the past few years. Furthermore, coming
from the Department of Nursing at the Cathay General Hospital (CGH), an
informatics nurse said that students who graduated from the Department of
Nursing at AU have good quality, and so she came to this exposition to recruit

German medical doctors come to Asia University
for exchange and study!
Medical Doctor Vite Babak Hamun Akbari,
from Heidelberg, Germany, was granted a Taiwan Experience Education Program
(TEEP) subsidy from the Ministry of Education in Taiwan. He studies with the
principal investigator, Dr. Chi-Wen Lung, in Biodesign Lab, Department of
Creative Product Design of Asia University for six months in 2021.(more.)
Prof. Chang-Wei Hsieh of Asia University Gives a Lecture on
“Basics of Quantum Computing
The College of Information and Electrical
Engineering at Asia University (AU) hold a course entitled “Basics of quantum
computing,” which was lectured by Prof. Chang-Wei Hsieh, an assistant professor
of the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering at AU. The
lecture attracts both students and teachers of AU and senior high-school
students, who applied for admission this year, to participate in the meantime.
President of AU, Prof. Jeffrey J. P. Tsai, listened throughout the lecture, asked
many questions, and said that AU will cooperate with National Cheng Kung
University to establish a quantum-computing school at the National Library, and

Students of Asia University Win the Awards of the 2020 AI
CUP Hosted by the Ministry of Education for Two Executive Years
Six
students from the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering at
Asia University (AU), Chi-An Chen, Ying-Chen Lin, Min-Chi Yang, Bo-Han Li,
Yi-Teng Yu, and Guan-Yao Wang, participated in the National Artificial
Intelligence Competition for Colleges and Universities, called AI CUP, hosted
by the Ministry of Education. They stood out from more than 4,000 participants
in the “Aven Mango Image Recognition” competition item of the 2020 AI CUP and
won an award. Chi-An Chen won the No. 5 place, and the group of Ying-Chen Lin,
Min-Chi Yang, Bo-Han Li, Yi-Teng Yu and Guan-Yao Wang won the No. 6 place.(more.)

Asia University (AU) participated in the “2020 Cochrane Empirical Medicine
Microfilm Competition ” jointly organized by Wiley and Shou Ray Information
Service Co., Ltd. The students Zu-Er Zhang, Yu-Shan Huang and Ci-Min Lai won a
gold medal by their work entitled “One-day Street Visit of a Cochrane Commissioner,” and Yi-nong Lin and

AU Teaches Parents and Children to Say Goodbye to Overuse of
3C Products
Prof. Yun-Hsuan Chang, an associate
professor of the Department of Psychology at Asia University (AU), and students
from the clinical psychology section of the master’s class went to Qin Zi Tian
Kindergarten at Puli in Nantou County to carry out the Internet Addiction
Prevention “Take-Root” Project. They taught the children to understand the
right way to make use of mobile phones: use for 30 minutes and rest for 10
minutes. Prof. Chang called on parents and teachers to work together to prevent
children from becoming addicted to mobile phones and other 3C products.(more.)
