Summary of Goal Achievement and Highlights

Our university’s “The Plan of Deep Cultivation” echoed the guidance of the Ministry of Education to enhance higher education and were linked to “The Development Plan of School Affairs” based on the evidence-oriented research and analysis of school affairs. The content of the plan includes 19 sub-projects in four major areas. Under the control of the perfect management and examination mechanism, the performance indicators for 2020 have been achieved, and the implementation of funds has reached 100%.

The following is a brief description of the goal achievement situation and characteristic highlights:

1.Innovative Teaching and Professional Quality Assurance

Adopt the research and analysis of school affairs to connect the teaching guidance support system to fully grasp the students’ pre-existing characteristics from the beginning of the teaching process. In the process, our university promotes the seminars of teaching practice, overseas study to innovate teaching knowledge, and subsidizes teachers’ teaching innovation plans. We also are recruiting and retaining excellent teachers, injecting flexible salary for teaching, and completing teaching professional training and support system. In 2020, when the global crisis was affected by the COVID-19, the "2020 Higher Education Teaching Practice and Research Symposium" the first time was presented online (Figure 1). The number of participants exceeded previous years and received widespread response. The seminar papers were selected and included in the upgrade academic journal "Research on Teaching Practice".

2.Integration of Learning and Practice, Talent Cultivation

Based on the characteristic areas of each college, combined with internal and external resources to nurture the professionals in special fields, namely "New Media Communication","Elderly Dining", "Cultural and Creative Design" and "Society Care".

The industrial course of the Art and Design College, which under the sponsorship and support of Cong Gangzi, Chairman of TSGS-WONHOUSE of Taiwan Bodie, combined with Toyobo's advanced (V-Stitcher) 3D digital clothing design software with the concept of "AR Future Service" to integrate the abilities of creative pattern, cloth design, and AR/VR technology (Figure 2) to cultivate students' imagination and design ability, and strengthens employment competitiveness in all aspects.

3.Meliorism and Public Participation

Our university takes full range care of disadvantaged students. We launched the "Grant of Subsidizing Disadvantaged Students' Study Aid", disadvantaged students are relieved of a certain degree of financial pressure and can study with peace of mind. It also deepens the self-efficacy of disadvantaged students through learning diagnosis and evaluation and provides guidance to disadvantaged students. To strengthen and encourage disadvantaged students to learn internationally, realize their dreams, and achieve the ideal of social mobility. The four disadvantaged students, namely Zhou Peizhen (aboriginal), Chen Weiye (low-middle income), Lai Huiping (low income), and Yang Qianhui (low-middle income) studying in the Department of Fashion Design participated in the "2020 China Olympic Cup Beauty Salon Competition" performed well (Figure 3).

4.Social Care and Responsible Contribution

Our university has rich experience in promoting local social responsibility in the past. In 2020, the USR Hub incubated four projects, namely "Deep Cultivation Service Project of Xinpu Persimmon Industry- Xinpu Community ", "Happiness and Meditation Project", "Encounter Taiwan's Third-line Romance, Experience Local Throb" and "Linking the forest resources of "Wufeng Mountain", "Turning over the Leisure and Health Care of Hometown", and through the school's local linking plan to encourage curriculum activities into the local industry, enhance the university's regional contribution, deepen regional connections to achieve long-term sustainable development. " Deep Cultivation Service Project of Xinpu Persimmon Industry- Xinpu Community" created posters for each store and leaved a moving story for the Hankeng through the interview field survey, video record, and graphic arrangement learned in the classrooms. This project established the "Complete Ecological Chain" of persimmon industry, and promoted the sustainability of the persimmon ecology and culture in Xinpu (Figure 4).
