Project Summary and Highlights
Implement teaching innovation and improve teaching quality: In order to improve the overall teaching efficiency of cross-college collaboration, the "Cross-Field Learning Center" was established in 2020, with three cross-domain application platforms of "Smart Digital", "Innovative Life" and "International Link." The application platform implements cross-domain co-teaching by practitioners and full-time teachers, and offers project-oriented and topic-oriented courses. This year, courses on "Smart and Digital Practice", "Design Thinking for Aging Life" and "Thematic English Discussion-Modern to Future Design" courses have been offered to enable teachers and students in different fields to communicate with one another and stimulate new possibilities. The College of Design employs a three-stage series of "internal deepening, parallel movement, and external divergence" at the core of instruction. Through problem-oriented teaching, the curriculum is interactively integrated, and the famous international design workshop is held to select outstanding students to go overseas (such as Jason Wu Studio) for internship. The College of Management has implemented cross-domain courses. So far, 50% of students have taken cross-domain courses, and a "discussion-based smart classroom" has been built to create an environment for teachers and students to interact with each other in real time. In addition, The College of Human Ecology has added a cross-field practice-oriented bachelor's degree in Smart Service Management English-Taught Program, and continuously carries out community training activities, provides cross-domain micro-learning programs, and promotes community-based teaching. The College of Culture and Creativity has employed relocation teaching to stimulate cross-cultural thinking and creativity, and activate the energy of the exhibition platform. The College of Business Information promotes the application of unmanned vehicles based on information technology, and focuses on the application and development of the tourism industry. The IDEA teaching mode and issue-oriented cultivation of students' language and narrative skills have achieved remarkable practical results. The teacher community in the school has also continued to grow, and the student learning community "We.Use.Recylab" has also received awards from the Executive Yuan and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Develop university characteristics: The number of partner universities at the university has increased from 108 to 243, of which 30 have signed double degrees, created more than 400 international exchange opportunities, offered co-creation courses, provided joint courses for students from both sides to take courses together, and annual Asia University's summer courses also provide diverse cross-domain learning opportunities. PRAXES, Shih Chien fashion design brand, completed the US phased plan in 2019, and it is expanded to Asia this year. The curriculum combines design practice and marketing, and conducts practical exercises from design, manufacturing and marketing to optimize the cultivation of integrated design talents. At the same time, it actively expands brand sales points, setting up a special counter for sale in Eslite Wuchang store, and cooperating with PChome to expand online channels. The university deepens the industry-university linkage, formulates methods and incentives to increase the number of industry-university projects, and completes a customized intellectual property rights consulting service platform. At the same time, the "industry school" integrates industry practices into the curriculum, the "virtual industry workshop," along with the "multi-functional performing arts classroom" as a practical field, and then the commercialization of course research and study results comes to realization. The professionalization and popularization of cloud computing promoted by AWS Academy have also begun to bear fruit.
Fulfill social responsibilities: establish a "Social Responsibility Promotion Committee" and a "University Social Responsibility Promotion Center" to improve support mechanisms and encourage teachers and students to participate in social practice.
