  1. Perspective One [Course Teaching Opens New Prospects]
    1. Summary of goal achievement: In terms of curriculum flexibility and diversification, capstone courses, employment courses, off-campus internships, and license counseling courses are offered; cross-field courses, micro-courses, honor courses are added, and graduation credits are reduced; offering innovative and entrepreneurship courses, step-by-step programming courses, and courses conducted in English. In terms of the innovation and variations of the learning and teaching paradigm, research activities were designed, open-class exchanges and cross-field communities were established; conducted "Helpful mentor and friends inheritance leadership," award-subsidy teaching practice research, the publication of results and experience sharing; encourage faculties to invest in digital teaching and application "Teaching Practice Research Project." In terms of global voices on characteristic campuses, the "Three All-Round Education," expanded online campuses, and provided various digital courses to connect with high schools. In terms of the ecological rehabilitation of industry-academia linkage, diversified education courses are set up to cooperate with the College of Artificial Innovative Intelligence's curriculum planning, combining virtual and reality, and setting up a certification examination test site. In terms of ensuring excellence in learning and teaching quality, the iClass learning platform and iSignal early learning warning system have been established, using data analysis, employment of graduates, industry linkages, learning and teaching evaluation mechanisms, and the effectiveness analysis to create sustainable development.

       

    2. Highlights

      Utilized the "Teacher Cross-Domain Research Team" and "Teacher's Diligent Growth Community" to expand faculties' profession. The College of Liberal Arts invited many international lecturers to visit Tamkang to conduct speeches and share experiences with faculties and students of the university. The Tamsui Wiki Museum team of the college cooperated with the innovation and entrepreneurship partner of the College of Foreign Languages and Literatures ​​in November to organize the achievement exhibition; it published a joint issue of "Tam Tam" magazine; in December, the Department of Chinese Literature hosted graduation thesis presentation to showcase the diversified learning results. In the 2020 academic year, 37 "Teaching Practice Research Projects" were approved, ranking No. 1 in the country. Based on the importance of the university, the number of applications for the 2021 academic year increased from 64 to 104. In response to the epidemic, Tamkang utilized the iClass mobile learning platform and MS Teams to conduct remote synchronized learning. A total of 26 seminar sessions and workshops were held, with 2,151 faculties and teaching assistants participating; remote course participation included: 692 full-time teaching faculties, 624 part-time faculties, 4,526 subjects, 23,443 students, and the total amount of participant of all subjects are 215,249.

       

  2. Perspective Two [Globalization & Great Distancing Competition]
    1. Summary of goal achievement: In the 2020 academic year, Tamkang University accumulated a total of 232 international partnered universities and institutions within 39 countries, and 5 transnational dual degree cooperation projects have been added. A total of 448 international mobile students participated, and the number of foreign students (1,718) accounted for 7.1% of the university's student population. Promotion of all-English foreign language teaching, organize English-foreign language camps, and university-wide English and foreign language proficiency competitions. The College of Artificial Innovative Intelligence was established in August, which includes 5 AI courses, 4 types of remote courses, 4 application platforms, and 4 reality fields. In November, the 4 reality fields of the College of Artificial Innovative Intelligence Exhibition Center, Experience Center, Certification Examination Test Site, and Hands-On Labs were inaugurated. A total of 33 international scholars were invited to visit the university or via video conference, 8 full-time expatriate faculties were approved, and 100 journal papers were co-authored with international scholars. There are 36 industry-academia projects. The university held 13 AI seminars or workshops, with 1,015 participants. "Da Vinci Creation Base" held 14 courses, lectures, and workshops. The team of faculties and students of the Department of Electrical Engineering participated in the World Cup Robotics Competition (FIRA) and won 3 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze, and 2 achievements. 81 students studied the "Dual Foreign Language Economics and Trade Talents Credit Course" program. The faculties and students’ team of the Department of Economics conducted international education volunteer services in Cambodia at the end of January and completed relevant services. The "Global Service Learning Program" of the Department of Global Politics and Economics continues to conduct training.

       

    2. Highlights

      Organized the TED x Tamsui annual meeting and the Hult Prize Campus Competition to enhance students' vision for internationalization and focus on global social issues. The College of Artificial Innovative Intelligencewas inaugurated, operated the concept of "One-Stop-Shop," setting up a reality field; completed the AI learning process plan, provided more than 200 cloud courses, setting up application platforms, integrated the energy of the university's faculties and students' research results, and layout local creations. The faculties of the Department of Physics collaborated with Dr. Goodenough, the winner of the 2019 Nobel Prize in Chemistry and the inventor of lithium batteries, to publish papers in the Science Journals, showing the Tamkang’s research results.

       

  3. Perspective Three [Higher Education Governance Opens Prosperity]
    1. Summary of goal achievement: Established a learning guidance and efficiency tracking mechanism for disadvantaged students to provide support for academic study, mental health, and career improvement; utilized excellent alumni resources to target disadvantaged students. Retained outstanding faculties and strengthen the teaching structure; encouraged teaching research activities, selected and rewarded outstanding faculties. Assembled university affairs research and analysis platform, emphasized data support and disclosed university information. The Chinese Language Center actively promotes digital teaching, successfully shortening the transition period and achieving the goal of synchronized teaching.

       

    2. Highlights

      Established the Indigenous National Examination Tutorial Class - Administrative Regulations; utilized career assessment tools to guide students' career exploration and development, and handled the "Key Career/Workplace IN Strength Series Activities" for disadvantaged students. A total of 279 people participated and assisted with the increase of careers by 81.86%. In the first semester of the 2020 academic year, 57 new full-time faculties were employed. A total of 720 applicants, 49 were recruited, and 31 of them reported for duty. Appointed 2 newly hired international talents and 2 distinguished professors. Strengthen the integration of the academic affairs research system, formulate the "Academic Affairs Research Database Data Collection and Management Application Operational Points," which is open to faculty and staff to apply for usage. Completed 20 academic affairs research topics. Improve Chinese faculties' physical online mixed teaching ability, and create professional faculties of teaching knowledge of science and technology (TPACK). Offer 26 digital training courses with 757 people; 125 online courses with 1,035 students.

       

  4. Perspective Four [Practice & Accomplish Mission Localization]
    1. Summary of goal achievement: Combined the SDGs indicators as the development goal, promoted service-learning courses, chemistry mobile educational vehicle, environmental education field certification, conducted functional training for visually impaired students, promoted a happy and healthy lifestyle for the elders, and experienced the course operational mode with professionals and partners to lead faculties and students. Leading communities, companies, and governments to expand the results of social practices.

       

    2. Highlights

Established 92 professional knowledge and ability service-learning courses (the ratio of attended departments is 96.2%), and cooperates with local schools, non-profit organizations, communities, etc. to assist with local needs, the Department of International Tourism Management traveled to rural tribes for leisure and recreational evaluation, the Department of Architecture cooperates with the foundation to improve the idle space of Tamsui, and the Department of Management Sciences penetrates deeply into the underprivileged groups and other relevant issues to shoot promotional and marketing videos. Leading students to introduce scientific knowledge into communities and lives, integrate resources across domains, and continue to promote chemistry mobile educational vehicle tours. A total of 590 activities were held from 2016 to 2020, which was highly recognized. Taking SDG 6 and 14 as the topic of ecological environment, five institutions cooperated to hold the SIG seminar in the Northern part of the Tamsui area to implement education to the aspect of life.
